an embroidery artist working out of Shanghai.
Nature is a huge influence on me,
I love taking time for solo walks when I'm off work. My little jungle at home includes two pots of Jasmine and one Chinese Rose.
My pieces blend weaving with fabric embroidery.
I ditch the steps and use an intuitive, free-form approach to nail the shapes and colors I sense in the moment.
Ultimately, I hope to capture those subtle, blurry feelings from everyday life
or serve up a visual diary of a happy journey.
100 只马 100 Horses
The '100 Horses' series is a project I kicked off back in 2020.
I'm basically using the horse as my main canvas to document life as it happens.
I'm 80 horses in so far!
Think of it as a visual diary that just keeps going.
Each piece captures a totally random moment or vibe
maybe a roadside flower patch I spotted, a sudden downpour, the chill vibes of spring, those super hot summer days,
the different moods of the city versus the countryside
I check out on trips, or even just a random piece of fruit.
Just imagine it can represent absolutely anything you want it to!
